W hat

Yarn : 

 Lerke, from DaleGarn, 1 hank main color and 1 hank contrasting yarn

Needles : 

3,5 mm (circular needle for the edges)

 

Notes :  

Hat is worked horizontally – with short rows for shaping. Hat is worked on the wrong side and then turned inside out.

Size : 

58 cm head circumference

Stiches :

Garter Stiches

i-cord bind off (or Ribbing k1,p1) for edges

Short rows

3 needle bind off

Body

With a piece of waste yarn and provisional cast on – cast on 40 stitches. Knit on row.

Work Chart 1. When working a full row again, after the short rows series, pick up stitches together with the wrap around it and knit together

Finishing

Turn hat inside out. Remove provisional yarn and pick up stitches. Join hat 3 needle bind off

Edges. Pick up stitches along the edge of the hat. With main color yarn (or contrasting color) work 1 row k, then work an i-cord bind off. You can replace the icord edge by a ribbing K1,p1 if you want to hat to come down lower and sit more steady.
